Commercial Garbage Collection
The City of New Braunfels offers a variety of solid waste services for commercial businesses located inside the City limits. At this time, the City does not offer commercial recycling services.
New Service Information
All new container service requests must comply with standards for container pads and enclosures for commercial containers prior to collection by the City, as described in the City of New Braunfels Code of Ordinances, Section 110-58. The size of container and the number of collections needed will be determined by City staff. Requests will be considered, but approval is based on volume, best practices, availability, and serviceability.

Changes to Commercial Rates
At their meeting on August 12th, 2024, New Braunfels City Council gave unanimous approval to changes affecting solid waste collection and operations. The approved changes, which became effective October 1st, 2024, include a new rate structure for commercial garbage collection and a new schedule for residential recycling collection. The newly approved rate structure provides a lower rate to commercial customers who use services less frequently and a higher rate for customers who use services more frequently, when compared to the current structure. The new rate structure will be phased in over the next three fiscal years, beginning October 1st, 2024, with subsequent adjustments on October 1st, 2025, and October 1st, 2026.
Here is a breakdown of the newly approved rate structures:

Commercial Container Options & Rates

Commercial Waste Reduction Resources
Materials Exchange
As TCEQ states, "the Resource Exchange Network for Eliminating Waste (RENEW) is a free materials-exchange network established by the Texas Legislature in 1987 to promote the reuse or recycling of industrial wastes." RENEW is online listing for materials that are generated by businesses or materials that are needed for commercial use.
Check out the RENEW page to see what you might be able to provide or receive from another Texas business. It could save you money!
Industrial & Hazardous Waste
Commercial and industrial businesses are required to adhere to waste management and recycling policies set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). As noted on their website, "the regulations that govern industrial and hazardous waste recycling are fairly complex." It is suggested that any business interested in these practices view publication RG-240.
