UPDATE: On today’s date (03-07-19), at approximately 11:45am, officers with the New Braunfels Police Department served an arrest warrant charging 17-year old Bryan David Ramirez-Fernandez of New Braunfels with 1st degree felony Murder (TPC 19.02). The warrant was served at his home in the 1100 block of Stone Branch, and Ramirez-Fernandez was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Comal County Jail where bond was set at $100,000. Investigators believe the suspect and the victim knew each other prior to the shooting, and that there are no additional suspects at large.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: On today’s date (03-04-19), at approximately 2:30am, the New Braunfels Police Department and the New Braunfels Fire Department were called to the Rodeway Inn hotel located in the 1200 block of I-35 North for a report of a gunshot victim.
Officers arrived and, inside one of the hotel rooms, they found a male who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Justice of the Peace for Pct. 3 Mike Rust arrived, pronounced the male deceased, and ordered an autopsy. The victim has since been identified as 18-year old Maximiliano Miranda of New Braunfels. Next of kin has been notified.
The investigation by detectives with the NBPD Criminal Investigation Division (C.I.D.) is ongoing, to include interviewing witnesses. Additional information will be released as the investigation allows.
