Commercial Garbage Collection

City of New Braunfels garbage bin

The City of New Braunfels offers a variety of solid waste services for commercial businesses located inside the City limits. At this time, the City does not offer commercial recycling services.

New Service Information

All new container service requests must comply with standards for container pads and enclosures for commercial containers prior to collection by the City, as described in the City of New Braunfels Code of Ordinances, Section 110-58. The size of container and the number of collections needed will be determined by City staff. Requests will be considered, but approval is based on volume, best practices, availability, and serviceability.

Changes to Commercial Rates

At their meeting on August 12th, 2024, New Braunfels City Council gave unanimous approval to changes affecting solid waste collection and operations. The approved changes, which became effective October 1st, 2024, include a new rate structure for commercial garbage collection and a new schedule for residential recycling collection. The newly approved rate structure provides a lower rate to commercial customers who use services less frequently and a higher rate for customers who use services more frequently, when compared to the current structure. The new rate structure will be phased in over the next three fiscal years, beginning October 1st, 2024, with subsequent adjustments on October 1st, 2025, and October 1st, 2026.

Here is a breakdown of the newly approved rate structures:
