The New Braunfels Citizens Fire Academy is a free community program designed to give participants an up-close look at the operations, services, and responsibilities of the New Braunfels Fire Department. Participants will explore emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, fire prevention, and rescue operations through classroom instruction and hands-on activities. Demonstrations and practical exercises include vehicle extrication, fire hose handling, search and rescue drills, rope rescues, swiftwater rescue operations, and more. The program offers residents a deeper understanding of the department’s role in public safety and emergency response throughout the community.
