Registration is now open for local first responders (Police, Fire, and EMS personnel), members of the US Military, healthcare professionals, and their families to attend “Post Traumatic Purpose,” a training event led by renowned speaker Travis Howze.
The event, which is being hosted by the New Braunfels Police Officers Association and the New Braunfels Professional Firefighters Association, in partnership with the City of New Braunfels, is set for Monday, March 6, 2023, from 9am to 1pm at Tree of Life Church. Registration is free but seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Travis Howze is an international touring speaker, author, and motivational wellness educator who spent 14 years in the military and emergency services as a U.S. Marine, Police Officer, and Firefighter. His motivational message focuses on mental health; targeting in on signs and symptoms that affected personnel may be displaying through various behavioral patterns and changes, ways of coping with trauma as it applies to the individual, the family, and the team. Travis provides a holistic talk by covering various available resources, the culture and why many never seek help. The 3-hour course being offered in New Braunfels has several objectives, including:
- Knowing, understanding, and effectively applying core leadership traits.
- Recognizing the subtle signs and symptoms of post traumatic stress before it’s too late.
- Handling burnout, lack of empathy, and loss of motivation from repeated trauma exposure and career demands.
- How to effectively communicate in your personal life and career.
- Planning for your mental future, including career longevity and life after the job.
