The City of New Braunfels will hold an open house-style public meeting centered around the feasibility study for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Dry Comal Creek Trail project. That come-and-go meeting is set for Wednesday, July 10th, from 5pm to 6:30pm at New Braunfels City Hall and will give residents a chance to review the conceptual layout of the two additional trail segments extending from Walnut Avenue to Altgelt Lane. City staff will be on hand to review the right-of-way needs for these two phases, identify access points onto the trail, and address issues like which side of the creek to construct the trail, as well as the need for water quality and flood control components to the project.
“We are excited to begin moving forward with additional phases of the Dry Comal Creek Trail,” said Transportation and Capital Improvements Director Garry Ford. “This public open house gives residents the opportunity to review the feasibility study and to give feedback on what they hope to see as the plans continue to take shape.”
Phase 1 of the Dry Comal Creek Trail project, which is currently in the design stage, will construct a 10-foot concrete multi-use path along the Dry Comal Creek connecting Walnut Avenue to Landa Park, with construction expected to begin in 2025.
Again, the open house public meeting will be held from 5pm to 6:30pm on Wednesday, July 10th, in the Tejas Room at New Braunfels City Hall, located at 550 Landa Street.
