Many City of New Braunfels facilities will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24th, and Wednesday, Dec. 25th, 2024, in observance of the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day holidays. Additionally, those facilities will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1st, 2025, in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday. This includes:
- City Hall
- Municipal Court
- The Public Library (Main Branch and Westside Branch & Community Center)
- The Civic and Convention Center
- Parks & Recreation administrative offices
- The Fischer Park Nature Education Center
- Solid Waste and Recycling administrative offices
- The City Recycling Center
Please note:
- If your regular collection day falls on a holiday or the day after a holiday, your collection will shift forward by one day. For example:
- Christmas: If your collection day falls on Christmas Day (Wed. Dec. 25th), then your service will shift to Thurs. Dec. 26th (and Thursday collection will shift to Fri. Dec. 27th).
- New Year's Day: If your collection day falls on New Year's Day (Wed. Jan. 1st), then your service will shift to Thurs. Jan. 2nd (and Thursday collection will shift to Fri. Jan. 3rd).
Residents are encouraged to place their garbage and recycling bins at the curb the night before since collection trucks can arrive as early as 6:30 am.
- For Christmas, both branches of the Public Library will have modified hours from 9am to 6pm on Mon. Dec. 23rd and Thurs. Dec. 26th. For New Year’s, both library branches will also have modified hours from 9am to 6pm on Tues. Dec. 31st.
- Das Rec will have modified hours from 9am to 4pm on Thurs. Dec. 26th, and also 8am to 5pm on Tues. Dec. 31st and Wed. Jan. 1st.
- The Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs will close at 3pm on Tues. Dec. 24th, and will close for the day on Wed. Dec. 25th. Normal hours will resume on Thurs. Dec. 26th. For New Year’s, the Golf Course will only be closed on Wed. Jan. 1st.
