Bulky Goods Drop Off

Bulky Goods Day is a free service offered once a quarter at four sites throughout the City where residents can dispose of large, bulky trash items like furniture, mattresses and car tires.
New Braunfels residents can dispose of large, unwanted household items at four drop-off locations during this event.
Limit: One load per household, per event
- Up to 5 oversized items
- Up to 4 whole passenger car tires (no rims)
Note: Trailers must go to the landfill. Trailers are not accepted at City sites.
Drop-Off Locations
- City Hall – 550 Landa Street
- New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) Service Center – 355 FM 306 (mattresses are NOT accepted at this location)
- Walnut Springs Elementary – 1900 S. Walnut Avenue
- Mesquite Creek Landfill – FM 1101 & Kohlenberg Road
Accepted Items
- Furniture
- Mattresses (see more details below)
- Whole passenger car tires without rims (limit 4)
- Bulky non-metal household items too large for your trash cart
Not Accepted Items
- Electronics or appliances
- Household hazardous waste
- Yard waste, plants, or green waste
- Loose or bagged garbage
- Scrap metal
- Construction, demolition, or remodeling debris
- Fixtures
- Business or commercial waste
- Partial, damaged, motorcycle, ATV, and/or lawn mower tires
Mattress Drop-Off
Mattresses will NOT be accepted at the NBU Service Center. Mattresses will only be accepted at the following locations:
- City Hall - 550 Landa St.
- Walnut Springs Elementary - 1900 S. Walnut Ave.
- Mesquite Creek Landfill - FM 1101 & Kohlenberg Rd.
The Mesquite Creek Landfill may charge a fee for mattress disposal. Visit the Waste Management website for pricing details.
Mesquite Creek Landfill Requirements
If dropping off at the landfill:
- All trailers must be tarped
- Each person in the vehicle must wear a safety vest
- Only one load per household
- Tires and appliances are not accepted at the landfill
