What Is Household Hazardous Waste?

Household Hazardous Waste includes toxic, reactive, ignitable, or corrosive products such as herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, pool chlorine, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, gasoline, lighter fluid, paint thinner, stains, laundry bleach, automotive fluids, oil filters, and lead-acid batteries.

Accepted Items

Hazardous Products

Herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, pool chlorine, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, and other similar household chemicals.

Other Items

Paint, automotive fluids, oil filters, and lead-acid batteries.

Not Accepted Items

• Mixed products
• Commercial or business waste
• Trailer loads (not accepted to shorten wait times)

How to Prepare Your Items

• Keep products separate; do not mix chemicals.
• Bring items in their original containers when possible.
• Ensure containers are properly sealed and labeled.

• Liquids must be in containers 5 gallons or smaller.

Eligibility

This event is open to City of New Braunfels and Comal County residents. Commercial and business waste will not be accepted.

Rules

• Bring a state-issued photo ID
• Items must be in sealed, labeled containers
• Liquid containers must be five (5) gallons or less
• Transport items in your trunk or truck bed

Where to Enter

Participants must enter from Laurel Lane. The line forms at the Laurel Lane entrance, continues up Laurel Lane, then turns left on Wood Road toward Clearfield Drive.
