This week, the City of New Braunfels officially began conducting Fire and EMS operations at the City’s newest fire station, Fire Station #7, located at 357 FM 306.
Construction on the $9.7 million, 15,000 square foot fire station began in August of 2022. Built by D. Wilson Construction, Fire Station #7 includes four bays for fire apparatus (including a fire truck, squad vehicle, ambulance, and a swift water rescue boat), overnight living quarters for up to 13 firefighters, an on-site gym, and kitchen facilities. The design of Fire Station #7 mimics the footprint of Fire Station #2 and is built for future growth opportunities.
“Fire Station #7 enhances our regional response profile to an area of our city that is seeing significant growth,” said New Braunfels Fire Chief Ruy Lozano. “I am thankful to our elected officials and city leadership for investing in our community’s public safety with this robust fire station, along with the additional firefighters needed to staff it.”
Fire Station #7 is now a fully operational station, including prescription drug disposal services. A ribbon cutting will be held in the coming weeks and a grand opening community celebration event will be held in the Fall.
