The City of New Braunfels is hosting several meetings on April 8th, 2025, to discuss and receive input on portions of the Land Development Ordinance (LDO). Current sections of the LDO to be discussed at these meetings include updates to the Historic Preservation Ordinance, a new Sign Ordinance, and concepts developed thus far for a new zoning district for Downtown.
Here are the meetings happening on April 8th, 2025:
- 8:30am: Historic Landmark Commission - City Council Chambers (550 Landa Street)
- 11:30am: Downtown Form-Based Zoning District input meeting - New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center (375 South Castell Avenue)
- 2:30pm: Citizens Advisory Committee/Technical Advisory Committee joint meeting – New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center (375 South Castell Avenue)
- 6:00pm: Community Meeting - New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center (375 South Castell Avenue)
“The City invites all interested residents to join us at any of these meetings in order to meet staff and provide feedback on signs, historic preservation, and Downtown zoning,” said Christopher Looney, New Braunfels Planning & Development Services Director. “We look forward to sharing work completed on these drafts thus far and want to hear from the community. If anyone is unable to attend the meetings, or would rather provide feedback another way, online drafts with comment tools are available on the City's website.”
The LDO is a rewrite of the local zoning, platting, signs and historic preservation ordinances. To leave feedback online, to see drafts of the various sections, including the Signs and Historic Preservation modules, or to learn more about the LDO process, visit www.newbraunfels.gov/ldo.
