Important
Any requests for action on your case will not be processed by the Court until ALL requirements have been submitted. This means that any appearance/court dates, due dates, warrants, driver's License holds, or any other status will remain in effect until all requirements are met.

Parking Violations
To address a parking violation, email the court with the following information:
- Citation or docket number in the subject line
(Include all letters — e.g., RB11111, RE222222, or P33333 — found in the upper right corner of your citation/notice.) - Copy of your photo ID
- Your plea to each violation:
- Guilty
- Not Guilty
- No Contest

Compliance Dismissals
Some violations may qualify for dismissal if you correct the issue within a specific time frame and provide proof.
How to Submit
If your violation is eligible, submit proof of compliance and the required fee:

Deadline: Proof and payment must be received or postmarked on or before the appearance date listed on your citation.

Tip: You can take pictures of your documents with a smartphone and email them as attachments.

Driving Safety Course
Taking a Driving Safety Course (DSC) can help you dismiss a moving violation and keep it off your driving record.
Who Is Not Eligible?
You cannot take a DSC if your violation involves:
- Driving 95+ mph
- Driving 25+ mph over the posted limit
- Passing a school bus
- Leaving the scene of a crash / failure to render aid
- A violation in a construction zone with workers present
- Holding a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Who Is Eligible?
You may be eligible if:
- You haven’t taken a Driving Safety Course in the past 12 months
- You submit all required documents on or before your citation's appearance date
What You’ll Need to Submit on the Portal
- Request for Driving Safety Course
(Include your plea of Guilty or No Contest) - Copy of your valid, non-CDL Texas driver’s license
- OR valid out-of-state license if you're military, a spouse, or a dependent of military
- Proof of insurance listing you as a covered driver
- Notarized affidavit stating you haven’t taken a DSC for ticket dismissal in the last 12 months
Reminder: Always include your citation number with all submissions.
To Request a Driver Safety Course
You must request a driver safety course for citation dismissal through the payment portal. Emailed requests will not be honored. When you go through the process of submitting your request for the driver safety course on the portal, you’ll be required to pay your costs of $184 or $209 (if the violation occurred in a school zone) and upload the documents listed above. The request form and unsworn affidavit are available on the portal.
Submit payment through the Municipal Online Payment Portal:
- Enter your citation number
- Choose your violation
- Select “Explore Options”
- Select “Driving Safety Course Request”
- Follow the steps on the webpage
After Approval: What’s Next?
You’ll have 90 days to:
- Complete a TDLR-approved Driving Safety Course
(Submit the COURT COPY of the completion certificate.) - Submit a Type 3 or 3A driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety
Deferred Disposition
Deferred Disposition is a way to potentially have your violation dismissed if you meet certain conditions during a probationary period.
Important Eligibility Notes
- If you are under 21 and the offense is under the Texas Penal Code or Alcoholic Beverage Code, you must appear in open court unless otherwise directed by the Judge.
- If you were driving more than 25 mph over the speed limit, you must request to speak with the prosecutor — in writing or in person — and you will be scheduled for a court date.
- You are not eligible for Deferred Disposition if:
- You have or had a Commercial Driver License (CDL) at the time of the violation, and it involved a moving vehicle
- Your violation was for:
- Passing a school bus
- A moving violation in a work zone with workers present
- Failing to obey a school crossing guard
- Leaving the scene of an accident

Requirements by Violation Type
Moving Violations
Deferral period: 90 days
During this time, you must:
- Pay court costs at the time of the request
- Pay the Deferred Disposition fine by the end of the 90-day period
- Not receive any new moving violations in New Braunfels
Additional requirements:
- If you were under 25 at the time of the offense, you must:
- Complete a Driving Safety Course
- Submit the court copy of your certificate
- If you have a provisional license, you must show proof of reexamination by DPS
Non-Moving Violations
Deferral period: 90 days
You must:
- Pay court costs at the time of the request
- Pay the deferred fine by the end of the deferral period
- Remain offense-free for violations of a similar nature in New Braunfels
Driver’s License Violations (Invalid, No DL, or Expired DL)
Deferral period: 90 days
You must:
- Pay court costs at the time of the request
- Pay the deferred fine by the end of the deferral period
- Submit proof of a valid driver’s license (or occupational license)
- Remain offense-free for violations of a similar nature in New Braunfels
Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility
Deferral period: 90 days
You must:
- Submit proof of valid insurance with your name listed on the policy
- Pay court costs at the time of the request
- Pay the deferred fine by the end of the deferral period
- Maintain valid insurance throughout the deferral period (it will be re-verified at the end)
- Not be convicted of similar offenses during the period

Local Rules for Court
Please follow the following rules when you come to the court.
- No firearms, knives, or other weapons.
- No audio or video recording.
- Cell phones must remain in silent mode.
- No food, drink, or gum.
- No tobacco products.
- No caps, hats or bandanas.
- No sunglasses.
- No shorts, ripped clothing, or sleeveless shirts.
- No indecent, obscene, racist, offensive, or profane language or graphics.
- No gestures, facial expressions, or sounds indicating approval or disapproval.
