Parking by Permit Only

Designated permit area means a contiguous area of a single-family residential or commercial use containing not less than ten commercial or single-family residential lots, upon which the city council imposes a parking permit per this policy. Except, where there are less than ten commercial or single-family residential lots on the entire length of the street, then the entire length of the street may be considered. Please refer to the Parking by Permit Map to see if your residence qualifies for the Parking by Permit.

Qualified Residence

If your residence does qualify then you will need to do the following:

1. Fill out the application - Parking by Permit Application

  • You can submit it online or
  • In-person at the Permitting office, 550 Landa Street

2. Provide current proof of residency (driver's license, photo identification card, copy of current lease or mortgage, current utility bill, etc.) this will need to be brought when you are collecting the parking permits.

3. Residents located in Parking by Permit Areas are entitled to four (4) parking permits at no charge. 

4. Residents located in Parking by Permit Areas can get Temporary Daily Parking Permits 

  • Residents can get Temporary Daily Parking Permits only for the area in which they live
  • Temporary Daily Parking Permits are valid for the date(s) designated on the permit

5. After you have submitted the form please come to the Permit Office to collect your Parking Permit.

River Access Parking

New Braunfels residents can register for a Resident River Parking Permit through the online portal. Upload your proof of residency and vehicle insurance to receive a sticker-less permit valid for one year. You can register any vehicle listed on your insurance. Approval takes about 24 hours. Once you get your confirmation email, you're good to go. More details are available on the Resident Information page.
